Better bend than break

Alternately,

Self respect is the fruit of discipline

If a dog finds a dusty piece of bone devoid of any flesh containing a little sinew, it feels happy even if that piece does not quench its hunger. On the other hand, a lion chooses not to attack a nearby jackal and hunts only for a mighty elephant. Everyone hungers for a fruit which befits his abilities though it demands extra effort.

Self-respect knows no considerations.
Self-respect is the fruit of discipline. The sense of dignity grows with the ability to say no to oneself.

The teachers are those who master knowledge from their teachers and then impart it to students. They are the treasure houses of knowledge and love. I consider such teachers as divine beings and worship them.

(Some people excel in mastering the knowledge. Some people are skillful in imparting the knowledge. A teacher is the one who possesses both these qualities and hence is referred to as a treasure of knowledge)

A friend in need is a friend indeed

One who helps us in difficult times should be considered as a relative (or a friend), even if he is a stranger. One who hurts us, should be considered as a stranger, even if he is our relative. Though a disease resides in our body, it is harmful. But a medicinal plant that grows in a forest, saves lives.
